Bright Light

In the quest to finish our unit, I am trying out all my ideas... yesterday, it was a light shade for our living room....  not bad for under $20 in materials... and a few hours work.

A Quilt for Mum

This Mother's Day, I thought I would make a quilt for my Mum.  I went into this thinking that it would be quite easy - nothing too challenging.. let me say, I have a WHOLE new respect for Quilters.. especially those very detailed quilts.  I didn't let it beat me though - I may have deviated away from my original pattern (once I discovered how much work was involved in it)... but I still think it came out pretty good.  I still have the pieces from the original design and now that I'm a seasoned Quilter (hehe), I might give that one a go.. in say a hundred years!

Score of the Decade

Even before I was a home owner, I had always wanted Casala chairs in my home .. although the dream was here, the spare funds weren't.  My dreams came true the other day on my way to the shops.. someone had put 2 Casala chairs on the side of the road.. free!!!!  Without a second thought, I u-turned and put them in my boot before the previous owners could realise what they had let go of!  So, another project - they need a bit of work.. and think I'll get them done properly - and at a grand total of much much less than they are worth.  This, is the bargain of the century!!!  The saying, 'Other people's trash is another's treasure' could not be more true.

Dutch Love

Last night I was trawling the internet for creativity, and came across this blog, Bloesem, it is so simple, yet so packed full of creativity.  I just couldn't stop, I had to go through every page, and on each page I would find something that I thought 'that's so cool!'  'I want to make that!'  So I thought I would share it with you ... The thing that I think I like the most is that you get to take a peek inside the creative spaces of so many people - you can see what inspires them, what they like to have around them when they create.  I find this so fascinating...

I want some of these ceramic keys !  These are from nonesuchthings.

The vase of paper flowers gives such a great base idea for some amazing centre pieces ...
